FAQ’s

Question:
When I come to visit, what should I wear?
Answer:
We feel the most important thing is to appear modest in what you wear. When you visit, you will see that some men wear suits with ties and some women wear dresses while others wear jeans and tee shirts. We want you to feel comfortable. We certainly do not want the mindset of “not having the right clothes” to keep you from feeling welcomed at Gilead.
Question:
What kind of music will I hear at Gilead?
Answer:
Good music! (as long as Pastor Tom isn’t singing during one of his illustrations) All of Gilead’s music is performed live by our own members.  We have a blended music service which simply means we do old and new songs. We feel that music is best when it is used to praise and lift up Jesus Christ, God’s Son.
Question:
Will my children be safe at Gilead?
Answer:
We take your child’s safety seriously. Our Child Protection Policy requires us to do a background check on all volunteers who work with children under the age of 18. Each Children’s Ministry has supervisors trained in protecting our children, as well as paid staff who are constantly on the watch for unsafe environments. To top that off, Gilead has a group of men that patrol the building both inside and out during every service. We want you to feel comfortable leaving your child with us.
Question:
How can someone become a member at Gilead?
Answer:
To be a member you must be 18 years of age, and a born again believer in Jesus Christ who has been baptized by immersion. A New Members class is required to introduce potential members to our doctrine, church ministries, and expectations of members. New Members must also be presented to the church during a service. We feel membership is a privilege that requires a commitment to become part of the Gilead family through giving, ministry, and worship. For more details please contact one of the Pastoral Staff.
Question:
Is the Saturday evening service the same as the Sunday mornings service?
Answer:
Yes! We know many times work or other obligations keep many people from being able to attend church services on Sunday mornings so we offer a Saturday church service at 6PM. It is the same music and same sermon as Sunday mornings. We also have children’s programs for infants up to 6th grade. It is our hope that this Saturday evening service will help us reach more people in our community!
